For clarification, signalling, or railway security devices, are systems that serve to control the movement of railway traffic and to increase its safety and optimize operations. Trajectories of trains are generally very demanding to influence and can be manipulated with very limited extent. The high weight and associated inertia of the trains make it difficult to stop them quickly if necessary. ETCS standard replaces approximately 20 different national train protection systems.
